Affected by tax reform, Pakistan’s cotton yarn exports are limited
In the past week, the price of polyester staple fiber in Pakistan has dropped sharply, and the price is the same as that in China. China’s demand for low-count yarn has recovered.
That week, Pakistani cotton prices fell sharply with ICE cotton futures. The United States imposed new tariffs on Chinese products, causing the overall international cotton price to decline. Pakistan’s Karachi cotton spot price index fell 7.74% within a week.
Polyester staple fiber prices also fell simultaneously. The price of imported polyester staple fiber fell to US$0.91/kg. Domestic 1.4D polyester staple fiber fell by 2.54%. However, domestic chemical fiber manufacturers Profits are still good. The prices of polyester-cotton yarn and polyester-viscose yarn in Pakistan fell sharply, with 20-count polyester-cotton yarn falling by 2.60%. The price of polyester staple fiber in Pakistan may continue to fall in the future due to continued weak demand from yarn manufacturers.
The price of cotton yarn in Pakistan is relatively stable, and the procurement demand of downstream enterprises is limited. Affected by the tax reform, domestic yarn sales are very sluggish and export sales are also very limited. Export prices to various regions remain basically unchanged. After the United States imposed new tariffs on Chinese clothing, Chinese buyers were reluctant to sign large cotton yarn import orders.
Although the price of imported viscose staple fiber continues to fall, the price of viscose staple fiber in Pakistan has not changed.
