Bangladesh leather industry begins to recover
According to a report by Bangladesh’s “Independent” on September 16, Bangladesh’s exports of leather and leather products have begun to rebound after more than two years of sluggishness. According to data from the Export Promotion Bureau, Bangladesh’s leather and leather products exports from July to August 2019 were US$185.41 million, a year-on-year increase of 1.32%. The Bangladesh Tanneries Association said that in addition to traditional markets such as South Korea, China, the European Union, the United States, and Canada, non-traditional markets such as South Africa, India, Australia, Spain, Japan, and Singapore have increased.
