Pakistan launches agricultural subsidy plan to respond to epidemic
According to Pakistan’s “Dawn” report on May 14: The Pakistani government approved on May 13 the agricultural subsidy plan for epidemic response proposed by the Ministry of Food Security and Research totaling 56.6 billion rupees. According to the plan, the Pakistani government will provide approximately 37 billion rupees in direct subsidies to farmers for purchasing chemical fertilizers, 8.8 billion rupees in loan interest rate subsidies for agricultural loans, 2.3 billion rupees in cotton seed subsidies, and 60 billion rupees in subsidies for white planthopper insecticides. Crores, sales tax subsidy of Rs 250 crore for locally manufactured tractors for one year.
