Bangladesh demands delayed payment to India
According to Bangladesh’s “Daily Star” report on June 24, the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry strongly requested India to agree to Bangladeshi importers delaying payments to India, and requested Indian banks to agree to L/C delays payment for 240 days. India is Bangladesh’s second largest import trading partner, after China, Bangladesh’s largest import trading partner. In the 2018/19 fiscal year, Bangladesh imported US$7.64 billion from India and exported US$1.24 billion to India.
