The national verification meeting of silkworm variety resource preservation and performance measurement data in Jilin Province was held
On June 12, 2023, according to the deployment of the Seed Industry Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Third National Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources Census Office, in order to achieve high quality on time font>Completing the silkworm resources census task, the National Silkworm Genetic Resources Census Expert Group and the Jilin Province Third Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources Census Office jointly organized the “Jilin Province Silkworm Breed Resource Preservation and Performance Measurement Data National Verification Conference” in Jilin City. .
4 experts from Henan Sericulture Research Institute, Heilongjiang Sericulture and Apiculture Development Center, Jilin Sericulture Research Institute, Jilin Provincial Animal Husbandry General Station, the leadership team of Jilin Sericulture Research Institute and Jilin Tussah Silkworm Breeding Members of the Quality Resource Protection and Utilization Innovation Team attended the meeting. At the meeting, a verification expert group was formed by members of the National Silkworm Genetic Resources Census Expert Group to verify the preservation status and performance measurement data of 5 national and 27 provincial silkworm breed resources undertaken by Jilin Sericulture Research Institute. The verification expert group listened to the Jilin Province Silkworm Genetic Resources Census and Measurement Team’s report on Jilin Province’s silkworm variety resource conservation and performance measurement, reviewed the documents submitted by the working group, and verified the 2022 silkworm resource performance measurement plan, breeding areas, cocoons Samples, silk test sheets and imaging data.
The verification team inspected the silkworm genetic resource conservation and breeding plan on site for the spring of 2023, the size of each resource breeding group, and learned about the technical staffing, facilities and equipment.
The expert group believes that the verification documents provided by the census measurement team are complete, informative and accurate, and meet the verification requirements. The census measurement team collected relevant research results, conducted a large number of experimental studies and verifications, and extensively solicited and adopted opinions from experts from scientific research, teaching, promotion, production and other units and management departments. The main technical indicators and technical requirements of the varieties reflect the current research results, practical experience and mature technology in the field of tussah variety resource protection in Jilin Province. In the formulation of tussah variety standards and new characteristic large cocoon varieties such as white cocoon, high oil, disease resistance, and multi-filament Cultivating students to lead the world in this field. It was unanimously agreed that the “Performance Measurement of Silkworm Genetic Resources Census in Jilin Province” passed the verification. It is recommended to build a tussah germplasm resource bank in Jilin Province as soon as possible and strengthen the protection of Changbai Mountain tussah genetic resources.
