Canada implements recall of police hats in Chinese police uniform sets
On December 29, 2022, Health Canada announced a recall of police caps in Chinese-made police uniform suits.
This product recall involves the police caps in the following police uniform sets. Products not included in the recall can be identified by a label inside the cap, which reads “Made in China.” Affected products do not contain this label.
The lead content of the product may exceed the allowable limit stipulated in the “Lead-containing Consumer Products Regulations”. Lead is highly toxic, especially for children, and will cause a series of serious health consequences. Effects include anemia, vomiting, diarrhea, heart and immune system and, in extreme cases, risk of death.
The products recalled were sold in Canada from September 2022 to October 2022, with approximately 62 units sold.
As of December 23, 2022, no accidents or casualties have been reported.
Health Canada recommends that you immediately stop using this product, keep it out of the reach of children, and contact SpiritHalloween for more information and a replacement product.
