South Korea launches anti-dumping investigation into Chinese oriented polyester yarn
On February 24, 2023, the Korea Trade Commission issued Announcement No. 2023-3, in response to an application submitted by the Korea Chemical Fiber Association on December 27, 2022, for products originating in China. , Malaysia’s oriented polyester yarn (Polyester Filament Partially Oriented Yarn, POY, or pre-oriented yarn) initiated an anti-dumping investigation. The dumping investigation period in this case is from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022 (12 months), and the damage investigation period is from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2022 (5 years). The Korean tax number of the product involved is 5402.46.9000. Chinese companies involved include China Xinfengming Group Huzhou Zhongshi Technology Co., Ltd. and its affiliated companies, Zhejiang Hengyi Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. and its affiliated companies, and Tongkun Group Co., Ltd. (TongkunGroupCo.Ltd.) and its affiliated companies. Except for another 2-month extension, the preliminary ruling in this case will be made within 3 months.
Stakeholders should register to respond within 3 weeks from the date of filing the case.
