When Zhang Yu introduced the textile disciplines of Nantong University, he said that the School of Textile and Clothing focuses on the development of industrial textiles and strengthens cooperation with multiple disciplines such as architecture, transportation, medicine, and information. Intersection and military-civilian integration have formed four distinctive research directions: advanced fibers and their products, safety protection textile composite material integration technology and applications, clean dyeing and finishing technology and textile chemicals, and protective clothing and wearable technology research.
When Wang Ruhai talked about student education, he pointed out that teaching is a systematic project. It is not only necessary to improve the quality of education and teaching level, but also to strengthen the cultural knowledge education and education for students. Ideological and political education involves continuous practice and summarizing experience in the teaching process and applying it to students’ work.
Zhang Wei said that the textile major has broken through the boundaries of traditional textiles and is developing towards high-end development. At present, the School of Textile and Clothing of Nantong University has formed unique characteristics. It has established more than ten national, provincial and municipal scientific research and teaching platforms such as the “National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for the Research and Development of Special Fiber Composite Materials for Safety Protection”, and cooperates with Jiangsu University students. More than 20 companies including the Group have jointly built multiple teaching practice platforms to serve teaching, scientific research and talent training. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to the Textile Light Science and Technology Education Foundation for its work. During the on-site inspection session, Shi Weidong accompanied the participants to visit the Nantong University History Museum, the Safety and Protective Textiles Theme Exhibition Hall, the Engineering Training Center and other places, and conducted further exchanges on the school construction of Nantong University.
