Tongxiang, Zhejiang: Nuggets in the golden cocoon
On May 26, in the Xingmin Sericulture Professional Cooperative, Fengming Street, Tongxiang City, purchasers were opening scales to purchase spring cocoons. This year, the purchase price of spring cocoons reached 52 yuan/kg, a new high since 2012. Among them, the new variety “Golden Cocoon” reached 56 yuan/kg. In recent years, Tongxiang has actively promoted the transformation and upgrading of the sericulture industry and increased the production and income of sericulture farmers.
