Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Operation status of the chemical fiber industry from January to April 2021

The production of the chemical fiber industry continued to grow from January to April 2021, with chemical fiber output reaching 21.7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 22.1%. Among them, the output of polyester was 17.21 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 23.6%; the output of nylon was 1.53 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 16.30%; ViscoseShort fiber output was 1.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 17.57%.

The efficiency of the chemical fiber industry will continue to rebound from January to April 2021. The actual investment in the chemical fiber industry increased by 13.0% year-on-year; the operating income of chemical fiber enterprises above designated size was 301.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 35.8%; the total profit was 20.78 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 648.87%; the operating income profit margin was 6.89%, a year-on-year increase of 5.64 percentage points .
