NTU teachers and students produced printing and dyeing works to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party
Recently, at the special education activity of “Party History Into Paintings, Patriotism Into Hearts” at the School of Food Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Technology, teachers and students used printing and dyeing works to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party.
Color mixing, plate making, smearing, scraping… 10 groups of students and 1 group of teachers from the School of Food Science and Technology repeated the subtle movements over and over again. They used the batik, tie dye and wet extension dyeing techniques they learned, Combined with the early electronic design, creation and printing and dyeing are carried out around the spiritual core of Jinggangshan Spirit, Long March Spirit, Zunyi Conference Spirit, Yan’an Spirit and so on.
Three hours later, 11 printing and dyeing works full of deep love for the party were produced: teachers carefully mixed colors to make the logo for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China; some students used the silhouette of the Red Army’s Long March and the party emblem. The combined images reproduce the great Long March; some use dazzling rockets soaring into the sky to symbolize the great spirit of manned spaceflight; some use the red silhouettes of Deng Jiaxian and Sun Jiadong as the foreground, with the thick shadows of atomic bombs and artificial satellites. The mushroom cloud serves as the background, highlighting the spiritual core of “two bombs and one satellite”…
Before the event started, teacher Zheng Chunling also gave on-site lectures on traditional printing and dyeing to teachers and students, and provided guidance on the subsequent printing and dyeing process. She particularly emphasized: “In our country, the development history of traditional printing and dyeing technology has a long history. The development process has gathered the wisdom of the people. The printing and dyeing production process is also a process of carrying forward traditional culture.”
“We encourage students to have in-depth insights, create independently, and use the printing and dyeing techniques they have learned in their majors to create. This is not only a professional practice process, but also an important party history study and education.” Zhang Qi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Food, NTU With the theme of “Inheriting the Great Spirit and Fulfilling the Mission of the Times”, he gave a party lesson to all participating teachers and students, told the story of the Communist Party of China’s century-old struggle, and encouraged the students to remember history and forge ahead.
It is reported that in early March 2021, the School of Food of the school collected drawings from students of all grades, formed a study group under the leadership of party members, and conducted electronic design and creation based on the great spirit of the century-old party history. Finally, the academy selected 10 works to enter the production and display stage.
