Yancheng: Cotton growth process accelerates, half of transplanted cotton blooms

Recently, information officers from Yancheng, Jiangsu Province conducted a survey on local cotton production information collection points on the current growth situation of new cotton.

The survey results show that the cotton planting area in Yancheng, Jiangsu this year has decreased compared with last year. At present, due to the suitable moisture and sufficient sunlight in the local area, there has been a significant jump in fertility after planting. From the perspective of growth stage, most of the early-transplanted Boyu cotton in Jiangsu and the transplanted cotton after wheat purchase have entered the bud stage. Local cotton farmers said that the current average plant height of local cotton is about 49.95 cm, the average fruiting branches are 10.95, the average fruit nodes are 26.1, the average budding is 14.1, the white flowers are 0.1, the small bolls are 1.15, the shedding rate is 41.19, and the cotton is blooming. The rate is 75%. Although the growth indicators of direct-seeded cotton after barley and direct-seeded cotton intercropped with wheat are inferior to those of transplanted and pot-raised cotton, key indicators such as plant height, fruit branches, fruit nodes, and buds are all better than the same period of the year.

It is understood that July-September in the cotton areas of the Yangtze River Basin is the peak season for cotton growth, and it is also the period for building high-quality and high-yield cotton. If there is a good foundation for seedling conditions and there are no severe droughts, floods, winds and insect disasters during the main growth period, cotton will A good harvest is possible.
