On-site promotion meeting for high-quality development of sericulture industry in Sichuan Province was held in Mianyang

On September 16, the on-site promotion meeting for the high quality development of Sichuan’s sericulture industry was held in Mianyang.

During the meeting, participants went to Fucheng Silkworm Cocoon Trading Center, TianhongSilk Company Industry Line 1 Sericulture Base, Sericulture Modern Agriculture Park Science and Technology Culture Exhibition Center, Fenggu Manufacturing Silk Co., Ltd. and other places to learn more about the development status of Mianyang’s sericulture industry through on-site visits, listening to introductions, and viewing exhibition boards.

In recent years, Mianyang City has achieved industrial development levels and subject-driven development through the “five grasps” of park construction, subject cultivation, technological innovation, diversified development, and brand creation. “Five improvements” in capabilities, cocoon quality, sericulture efficiency, and competitive advantage. In 2020, the city’s mulberry orchard area was 226,700 acres, 211,400 silkworms were raised, and cocoon revenue was 313 million yuan, all accounting for more than one-tenth of the province. “Yanting Mulberry Leaf” and “Fucheng Silkworm Cocoon” obtained geographical indication agricultural products.

Xue Xueshen, deputy director of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Vice Mayor Zheng Zhiheng attended the meeting and delivered a speech. At the meeting, the participating representatives also exchanged experiences in the construction of sericulture bases and modern agricultural parks in various places.
