Playing “three cards” and playing “a game of chess” Yizhou’s silkworm industry has broad prospects for development
In recent years, Yizhou District, Hechi City has taken party building as the guide and vigorously promoted poverty alleviation and rural revitalization through the advantages of the mulberry industry. The mulberry industry has become the leading industry for poverty alleviation in the region and increased farmers’ income. Leading industry, development prospects are very broad.
Carry forward the silkworm culture and lay a good foundation for inheritance. The sericulture industry in this area has a long cultural history, with a history of more than 470 years. Farmers have a broad foundation for planting mulberry and raising sericulture. In recent years, taking advantage of the country’s implementation of the strategic goal of “moving mulberry from the east to the west”, the sericulture industry in the region has developed rapidly. The existing mulberry orchard area is 380,000 acres, accounting for 13.09% of the mulberry orchard area in Guangxi. The annual output of fresh cocoons is 67,100 tons. The mulberry orchard area and silkworm cocoon output have ranked first among counties in the country for 17 consecutive years. There are currently 15 silk reeling companies and 232 sets of automatic silk reeling machines; there are 2 silk weaving companies and 56 silk weaving machines (sets). The silk output of Baichang is 4,810 tons; the output of gray silk is 3.722 million meters, and the total output value of silk enterprises is 2.12 billion yuan. The initial processing capacity of silk reeling industry and the output of white mill silk continue to rank first among Guangxi counties. 40% of raw silk has reached grade 5A or above, and 90% has reached grade 4A or above. The output value of cocoon silk is about 3 billion yuan. The long history of Yizhou’s silkworm industry has been well inherited, and it has successively won titles such as “China’s Hometown of Sericulture” and “China’s High-Quality Cocoon Silk Production Base”.
Develop the silkworm industry and play a good role in integration. The first is to rely on the creation of integrated development of industrial parks. A national modern agricultural industrial park is built with 5 towns including Desheng as the core. At present, the industrial park covers an area of 160,200 acres of mulberry fields, produces 29,000 tons of silkworm cocoons, farmers raise silkworms and sell cocoons for 1.062 billion yuan, and there are 36,000 silkworm farmers with 166,000 households. people, the per capita income from sericulture is 6,397 yuan; second, the integrated development of green concepts is firmly established. The main industrial chain is mulberry and silkworm rearing, cocoon silk processing, and comprehensive utilization of silkworm resources, and adopts the organizational management and development model of “enterprise + association (cocoon station) + base + farmers”. In 2020, two silkworm excrement processing companies processed 150,000 tons of silkworm excrement, and the harmless treatment rate of silkworm excrement reached 40%. It produces 23,000 tons of mulberry edible fungi, with an annual output value of 215 million yuan. The annual output of silk quilts is 250,000 beds, with an output value of over 300 million yuan; thirdly, the development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries is deeply integrated. Forming “mulberry – silkworm – cocoon – silk – silk – clothing” “mulberry tree (fruit) – mulberry branches (edible fungi, alkaloid extraction, biopower generation, etc.) – mulberry leaf tea (mulberry leaf solid beverage) – mulberry fruit wine” There are four industrial chains: cocoons (waste silk) – silk quilts, “silkworm chrysalises – feed (food)”, product online (e-commerce) and offline (physical stores, exhibition stores) ) has a fully developed sales network at home and abroad, becoming a veritable leading area for the integrated development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries in rural areas across the country.
Revitalize silkworm technology and play a good role in attracting wisdom. The district has established 4 scientific research cooperation platforms with the National Sericulture Technology System, Zhejiang University, Southwest University, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, etc., and has established the Zhejiang University School of Animal Science-Guangxi Hechi Cocoon Silk Technology Service Station. Currently preparations are underway to establish the Yizhou Cocoon and Silk Whole Industry Chain Research Institute of the Chinese Sericulture Society. At the same time, we will actively build a large-scale, standardized and intensive development pattern for the sericulture industry. There are currently 186 commercial silkworm co-breeding rooms, 6,525 farmers with mulberry gardens of more than 10 acres, and 20 industrial enterprises, including 16 enterprises above designated size, involving cocoon and silk processing, medicinal material production, and silkworm pupa processingExport, silk quilt production, etc. In 2020, the sales value of Yizhou cocoon silk and its products was 1.513 billion yuan, and the export volume reached 16.74 million US dollars. The products were exported to countries such as Italy, Brazil, Japan, Vietnam, India, South Korea and Romania. In the next 2-3 years, the district will continue to create a national modern agricultural industrial park, strengthen and expand the Guangxi Yizhou Silkworm Cocoon Agricultural Products Processing Cluster, and build the industry into a “production + processing + technology + brand” sericulture entire industry chain cluster. , an industrial integration development zone integrating science popularization, culture, education, e-commerce, leisure and tourism.
On September 26, at the 2021 National Well-known Enterprises Supporting the Development of Key Industries in Guangxi, the district successfully signed the Guangxi Light Industry Park (Cocoon Silk) 50 billion yuan industrial park strategic cooperation project. This project will lay a solid foundation for the district to increase the introduction of industrial projects for cocoon and silk mending chains and clusters, and for the city to strive to build a “New Silk City of China”, allowing the development of the district’s sericulture industry to see a very broad future. .
