Meidi Textile Processing Factory mainly produces baseball caps, sun hats and other types of hats, which are sold at home and abroad. Dishuiya Village is located in a remote area of Baofeng County. Why did a textile processing factory appear here?
“I used to work in a textile factory in Guangzhou. I went home to celebrate the New Year at the end of 2019. I saw the earth-shaking changes in my hometown. The environment in the countryside is getting better and better. I learned that the township has introduced various policies to support entrepreneurship, which happened to be a great opportunity for my children. It was time to go to school, so I decided not to go out to work, start a business at home, and be my own boss.” said Tang Yaping, the person in charge of the textile processing factory.
With the strong support of the Party Committee of the Guanyintang Forestry Eco-tourism Demonstration Zone, the Meidi Textile Processing Factory successfully opened for business in December 2020. Tang Yaping has been engaged in textile work in Guangzhou for many years and has met many customers from other places. Contacting customers from other places, orders gradually started coming in from all over the country.
“We make more than 1,000 pieces every day, and the wages are based on piecework. The more you work, the more you get. The average monthly salary is more than 2,000 yuan,” Hu Hongxia, a left-behind woman from Dishuiya Village who works in the hat factory, said happily. “The hat factory solves the problem on the one hand. On the other hand, it also provides employment opportunities for other people in the village, and can help everyone make money together.” After saying this, Tang Yaping smiled happily .
