One is to maintain relatively stable production and yarn quality and improve the operating efficiency of machinery. If a single raw cotton is used for spinning, due to the limited use time of a batch of raw cotton, raw materials must be frequently replaced, resulting in fluctuations in production and yarn volume. The blending of cotton can keep the properties of the mixed cotton relatively stable, reduce quality fluctuations, and improve the operating efficiency of the machinery.
The second is the rational use of raw cotton. Different uses of yarn have different requirements for quality and characteristics. In addition, the spinning process has its own characteristics, so the requirements for raw cotton are also different. Cotton matching can give full play to the characteristics of respective raw cottons, rationally utilize the characteristics of raw cottons, learn from each other’s strengths, make full use of the strengths of various raw cottons, and meet the requirements of different yarns.
The third is to save raw cotton and reduce costs. In the long process of raw cotton, due to the influence of natural conditions such as climate and insect pests, a certain amount of low-grade cotton will be produced. If this low-grade cotton is used for spinning alone, the quality of the yarn will decrease significantly. If a certain proportion of low-grade cotton is appropriately mixed into the mixed cotton, not only will the quality of the yarn not be reduced, but on the contrary, the strength of the yarn will be improved to a certain extent. In addition, using part of the recycled cotton and reused cotton in the mixed cotton is also beneficial to saving raw cotton and reducing costs.
At present, one of the cotton distribution methods commonly used by weaving factories in my country is the classification and queuing method. Classification is based on the properties of raw cotton and the different requirements of various yarns, combined with the original quality status and mechanical properties of various special yarns, to divide the raw cotton suitable for spinning a certain special yarn into one category, and divide it into several kind. Queuing is to line up the same type of raw cotton in a queue according to different situations, such as region, nature, etc., so that they can be replaced and used in batches.

1. Carding, carefully combing the cotton rolls or cotton bundles and cotton blocks in the cotton layer produced by the blowroom process, so that most of them are separated into single fiber state;
2. Impurity removal, The blowroom process can only remove about 60% of the impurities and defects in the raw materials. Therefore, the carding process must continue to remove the remaining impurities and defects in the cotton roll or cotton layer, especially the small impurities and defects;
3. Mixing and uniformity, the blowroom process only has a preliminary mixing effect on the raw cotton, while the carding process can fully soften the single fibers.
4. Growth, in order to facilitate further processing in the next process, uniform slivers that meet certain specifications and quality requirements need to be made and placed regularly in the sliver can.
