The proportion of high value-added combed cotton, multi-fiber blends, and special function yarns is relatively small. Textile and garment enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, lack technological innovation capabilities.

Since textiles and clothing are labor-intensive industries, the relocation of Taiwanese enterprises has become increasingly serious in recent years, resulting in a decrease in demand for textile machinery in the Taiwanese market year by year, and an increase in the proportion of textile machinery exported year by year.

In recent years, the level of technical equipment in our province has been rapidly improving. A large number of water-jet, air-jet, rapier and other shuttleless looms, high-performance knitting machines, high-efficiency and energy-saving dyeing and finishing production lines have been introduced. Add or introduce spunlace, needle punch, spunbond and other nonwoven production lines. The garment industry has introduced a large number of new equipment such as clothing sewing and ironing, as well as new devices such as CAD/CAM electronic information series, and the level of automation has been continuously improved. Although the level of Taiwan’s textile machinery is not comparable to that of world-class countries such as Germany and Italy, the price is only half of that. Therefore, the introduction of Taiwan’s advanced textile machinery, including attracting it to invest and set up factories, is of great significance to improving the level of textile and garment mechanization in our province and improving our province’s textile and garment industry chain.

Achieve win-win situation

After my country’s accession to the WTO, driven by the export and domestic demand markets, various economic indicators of our province’s textile industry have continued to maintain a growth rate of more than 25%, and the industrial structure, economic benefits and operational quality have continued to change and improve. .

Lin Lei, deputy secretary-general of the Provincial Textile and Garment Industry Association, said that a number of textile industry clusters and agglomeration effects featuring the regional economy of cities, counties, and towns, dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises, have gradually formed. So far, the textile and garment industry cluster pilot areas awarded by the China Textile and Apparel Industry Association in our province include: Jinjiang and Changle, two Chinese textile base cities, Shishi leisure clothing characteristic city, and 12 textile and garment characteristic towns.

The brand advantages of casual men’s clothing, formal clothing, down, children’s clothing and other clothing with our province’s characteristics in the domestic market are constantly improving. Huang Weiji, secretary-general of the Taiwan Textile Development Association, believes that Fujian’s textile and clothing industry chain is becoming increasingly complete. Only with such conditions, Taiwan-funded enterprises are willing to invest, otherwise the cost will be too high; Fujian’s clothing brands have a certain influence across the country. , Taiwan’s fabric companies are also willing to cooperate with such companies.
