Wusu, Xinjiang: The impact of high temperature is limited and cotton is growing well
Recently, high temperatures (above 35 degrees Celsius) have persisted in Xinjiang. Cotton in some local areas has experienced symptoms such as drought, water shortage, and slowed growth in cotton fields due to the long-term high temperature weather.
In order to reduce the impact of high temperature on the growth of new cotton, local cotton farmers took effective measures in a timely manner, including watering, fertilizing, and spraying flower-preserving drugs to reduce flower-boll shedding. According to the weather forecast, the high temperature weather will be alleviated next week (August 2-6). According to feedback from local farmers in Wusu City, Xinjiang and the Seventh Division of the Production and Construction Corps, local cotton is currently growing well, with an average of 4-7 peaches per cotton plant.
