New flame-retardant viscose-VISIL fiber
VISIL fiber is a high-tech fiber recently developed by Finnish fiber manufacturer Sateri. It is a flame-retardant viscose fiber containing 33% aluminosilicate modified silica. It is made from traditional viscose through a two-phase regeneration and modification process. This fiber emits only a small amount of smoke and releases carbon dioxide gas, and is self-extinguishing when the fire source is removed. VISIL fiber looks similar to standard viscose fiber, is comfortable to wear, does not irritate the skin and has good dyeability. The manufacturer recommends that the effect will be better if other flame retardant fibers are blended with VISIL. VISIL fiber can be used in products such as protective clothing, furniture, mattresses, nonwovens and other high-performance fabrics.
