Struggling with energy crisis, Pakistani textile companies turn to domestic market
According to Pakistan’s “Tribune” report, due to the delay in improving the tense domestic energy supply situation in Pakistan, the production of textile industry enterprises has been greatly affected. In Faislabad, the production base of Pakistan’s textile industry, many textile companies were forced to suspend production because they could not get natural gas supplies, and at the same time gave up the export orders that the companies relied on for survival. In the international market competition, textiles produced in Pakistan have lost their competitiveness compared with textiles produced in Vietnam and Bangladesh. Affected by this dilemma, a considerable number of companies have turned to Pakistan’s domestic consumer market.
