Kljuc sock factory in Bosnia and Herzegovina survived the crisis
The economic crisis has brought the textile industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina to the brink of collapse, but the Kljuc socks factory in Sarajevo has survived by exporting to the Western European market. The factory’s main export market is Germany and will soon export special medical socks to Sweden.
The general manager of the factory said that they do not have high hopes for the domestic market because the country does not take any measures to protect the textile industry and allows unlimited import of low-quality products from Eastern countries. He said that some dealers buy products from China and sell them on the market with false labels of Turkish products, claiming that they are 100% cotton socks. The factory analyzed the materials of the product and found that it was produced with the worst and cheapest recycled products, including rags, carpets, artificial materials, etc.
