Health Canada has implemented a voluntary recall of Mexx brand girls’ sweaters made in China
On March 16, 2012, Health Canada and MexxCanadaCo. jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made Mexx brand girls’ sweaters.
The recalled product is Mexx brand girls’ sweater, 100% cotton. The specific product information is:
Style number | Color | Specifications | SKU code |
K1RC8252 | Chocolate ( 2859) | 3-6M ,6-9M,9-12M | 4216510, 4216520, 4216530, 4216540, 4216550, 4216560 |
Dark purple (502) | 12-18M ,18-24M,24-30M | 3435210, 3435220, 3435230, 3435240, 3435250, 3435260 | |
pink(672) | 3435310, 3435320, 3435330, 3435340, 3435350, 3435360 |
The sweater’s SKU code is marked on the sweater collar label and store receipt. The sweater was sold in Canada from August 2011 to February 2012.
The number of products recalled this time is approximately 2,268. The reason for the failure is that the knitted ball on the front of the sweater is easy to fall off, and if it is put into the mouth of a child, it may cause a choking hazard. So far, neither Health Canada nor MexxCanadaCo. have received any accident reports.
To this end, Health Canada recommends that consumers immediately stop wearing the recalled sweaters, remove the knitted balls to eliminate the hazard, or contact the retailer for a return and full refund.
