Textile and apparel trade between China and South Korea continues to be sluggish
According to the latest data released by South Korea’s Ministry of Knowledge Economy, in January 2012, China’s import and export trade volume of textile and apparel products from South Korea dropped by 15.3% and 0.5% respectively.
It is understood that since the third quarter of last year, the textile and apparel import and export transactions between China and South Korea have been decreasing month by month. This is the second consecutive decline in trade for ten consecutive months from November 2008 to October 2009. There was a sustained decline in trade volume for the first time. South Korea’s Ministry of Knowledge Economy also announced that South Korea’s textile and apparel exports to China may continue to decline in the next few months. Affected by the new round of economic winter, the globalization of South Korea’s textile industry will be full of mist.
