Iran will import lint cotton from Syria
The State-owned General Organization of the Syrian Textile Industry recently signed a contract with Iran to export lint cotton worth US$30 million to Iran, a three-fold increase from 2010. Bilateral economic and trade cooperation between Syria and Iran has always been very limited. In 2010, Syria’s exports to Iran were US$15 million, and Iran’s exports to Syria were US$291 million.
