Syria’s lint cotton output reaches 10,000 tons
According to Nazir Lababidi, head of the Syrian Cotton Market Organization (CMO), the production of Syrian lint cotton from 2011 to 2012 reached 218,000 tons, an increase of 58,000 tons from the previous season. At the same time, CMO purchased a total of 638,000 tons of seed cotton from farmers, and the total output of Syrian seed cotton this season is expected to reach 700,000 tons.
