Jilin City: Focusing on the carbon fiber industry to make “black gold” shine even more
Carbon fiber is called the “black gold” in the field of materials. Nowadays, in Jilin City, the development of carbon fiberindustrial cluster has been formed, which has strongly stimulated the local economy. At present, Jilin City’s carbon fiber raw silk production capacity has reached 50,000 tons, and its carbon fiber production capacity has reached 14,000 tons, ranking among the top in the country. The performance indicators of carbon wire products can meet the application requirements in wind power, automobiles, rail buses and other fields.
Jilin City regards the carbon fiber industry as an important starting point for transformation and upgrading, focusing on promoting the Jilin Carbon Valley’s annual output of 200,000 tons of carbon fiber full industry chain projects, and actively seeking cooperation with PetroChina, Baowu Group, FAW Group and other large enterprises have cooperated, and the international wind power giant Vestas and other companies have been introduced. The research and development and production of carbon fiber and composite materials products are in full bloom.
In terms of core technology research and development, Jilin City continues to strengthen the “stuck neck” technology problem. Jilin City organized the preparation of a technical roadmap for the development of the carbon fiber industry, supported the development of high-performance carbon fiber and large-tow carbon fiber for wind power and pressure vessels, and took the lead in overcoming 25K-50K polyacrylonitrile. Based on the development of industrialization technology for raw silk and carbon fiber, the industrial innovation capabilities have been continuously improved.
Jilin City drafted the “Jilin City Three-Year Action Plan (2021-2023) Work Plan for Building an International Carbon Fiber and Composite Materials Industrial Base.” It is proposed that by 2023, the performance indicators of large-tow carbon fiber for wind power will reach the international advanced level, the production capacity of large-tow carbon fiber precursors and carbon filaments will strive to be among the best in the world, T700 and T800 high-performance carbon fibers will achieve large-scale production, and Jilin Chemical Fiber will develop into a world-class Carbon fiber company.
During the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, Jilin City will focus on key areas such as new energy vehicles, wind and solar power generation, aerospace, pressure vessels, and hydrogen energy utilization, and build a carbon fiber industry cluster with Jilin Chemical Fiber as the main force. It strives to reach 310,000 tons of raw silk production capacity, 100,000 tons of carbon fiber production capacity, and 50,000 tons of composite materials and products.
