Hengshui: Continuous rainfall in cotton areas has reduced cotton production and is a foregone conclusion

From August 29 to September 2, the central and southern regions of Hebei experienced light to moderate rains. Local cotton farmers said that this untimely continuous rainfall is definitely a big blow to local cotton, because during the main flood season (late July to early August) and subsequent periods, the local area has continuous rain. Even those with cracked bolls and cotton buds were exposed to rain and became stiff cotton and rain-rusted cotton. As a result, the peachquality at the end of this year was greatly reduced compared with the same period last year. This rainfall has further exacerbated the situation.
In addition, it is not only the vomiting of bottom peaches that is affected, but also the development and maturity of peaches are also affected to varying degrees. Due to frequent rainfall, the fertility of the land, including cotton fields, has been severely reduced. In addition, cotton plants have grown wildly and wild branches have proliferated. As a result, the quantity and quality of peaches have been lower than the levels of the same period last year. If the weather conditions do not improve significantly in the near future, the later growth, development and maturity of peaches may not escape the fate of the current bottom peaches. From this point of view, a reduction in local cotton production this year is a foregone conclusion.
