Xinjiang Corps focuses on improving cotton quality

Through measures such as establishing a quality traceability system, it is striving to build a national High-quality cotton production base, in order to lay a solid foundation for high-quality development, promote the quality and efficiency of the cotton industry, and enhance competitiveness.
This year, the Xinjiang Corps has carried out pilot projects to create high-quality cotton and trace cotton quality in various divisions and cities, build a cotton quality traceability system, and explore quality traceability from seed cotton to lint cotton path to provide a basis for cotton quality rewards. This will guide cotton growers to strengthen field management and cooperate with processing companies with cotton quality traceability qualifications to achieve high quality, price and subsidies.
In the golden autumn, with less than a month left before cotton harvest, the Agricultural Development Service Center of the 222nd Regiment of the 12th Division of the Xinjiang Corps once again went to each company to carry out cotton quality traceability awards. Supplement policy publicity, and explain in detail the pilot reward conditions, seed cotton harvesting requirements, cotton sales requirements and reward standards, etc.
Wu Faping, an employee of the 222nd Regiment, planted hundreds of acres of cotton this year. He said: “In addition to the national fixed cotton supplement policy, entering the cotton quality traceability system, if the quality meets the specified requirements, there will be no less than 0.2 yuan per kilogram. Incentives and subsidies, in this way, 100 acres of cotton can be subsidized at least 9,000 yuan. Improving the quality and efficiency of cotton is indeed a good thing for farmers.”
Xinjiang Corps has 110 regiments growing cotton. The cotton industry is the pillar industry and advantageous industry of Xinjiang Corps agriculture. It occupies a decisive position in the Xinjiang Corps economy. It is of great significance to ensure the income of cotton farmers. To this end, the Xinjiang Corps issued a cotton quality improvement action work plan in March this year, proposing that in 2021, the Xinjiang Corps’ cotton quality will be significantly improved, with the main quality indicators generally higher than the national average. By the end of the “14th Five-Year Plan”, the brand influence and market Competitiveness is further enhanced.
Xinjiang Beiting Cotton Industry Co., Ltd. is a cotton processing enterprise in the 222nd Group. Starting in July and August, the enterprise applied for the qualification of a quality traceability pilot enterprise as required, and has now begun equipment maintenance. In order to achieve quality traceability conditions, the company also re-planned and arranged the operating procedures in the factory.
“Participating in the quality traceability work is a very good thing for our company. It is not only beneficial to the sales of cotton, but also facilitates our management of the harvesting and planting quality of our employees.” The person in charge of Beiting Cotton Industry Company Luo Zongyi said that as an enterprise, quality is life, and improving the quality and efficiency of cotton will also help enterprises establish their brands and occupy the market.
