According to the latest “China·KeqiaoTextile Index released by the China Textile City Construction Management Committee “(hereinafter referred to as: “Index”), the textile foreign trade prosperity index of Keqiao District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province closed at 1091.73 points in July this year, a month-on-month increase of 7.58%. Among them, Keqiao textile exports to ASEAN have grown rapidly.
Keqiao District is home to China Textile City, “Asia’s largest cloth distribution center”. Nearly a quarter of the world’s textiles are traded here, and textiles are exported to 192 countries and regions.
“Index” analysis shows that due to the impact of the global new crown epidemic, some orders from India and ASEAN have returned since this year, and China’s export growth trend is expected to continue until the third quarter or the end of this year.
Judging from the newly released textile foreign trade prosperity index of Keqiao District in July, the foreign trade prosperity index of curtains and draperies increased by 22.91% month-on-month, and the foreign trade prosperity index of knitted and crocheted goods increased by 27.92% month-on-month, driving the foreign trade prosperity index to rise month-on-month.
The “Index” mentioned that the epidemic has made consumers pay more attention to their home environment and accelerated the change in consumption habits. In July this year, the European and American markets had strong demand for Keqiao’s home furnishing products, and Keqiao Textile’s exports to Latin America, ASEAN and North America maintained a rapid growth trend.
“ASEAN is an important market for Keqiao Textile’s foreign trade. Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, and Indonesia are all destinations for Keqiao Textile’s ‘Going Out‘.” Shaoxing Ke Zeng Xinfu, executive director of the Qiao Textile City Overseas Market Promotion Association and president of the Vietnam branch, said in an interview.

In addition to guiding enterprises to make use of new forms such as market procurement trade, cross-border e-commerce, and live broadcasting, the Keqiao District Government also implements a “government joint guarantee” policy for export credit insurance for small and micro enterprises. “Index” predicts that the textile industry in Keqiao District will generally show a slight upward trend month-on-month in September. Among them, the traditional market of China Textile City in autumn will show a slight upward trend in the creation of new products, and the acceptance of orders for autumn and winter varieties will increase slightly, which may boost the overall prosperity index in September.
