“It only took 8 months from the signing of the contract to the launch of production.” Looking back on the entrepreneurial process, Li Zuhua, deputy general manager of Shunyuan Textile Company, said that when the company came to Youxi to invest in 2011, it was because of the solid textile industry foundation here. .
In 1987, the first textile and garment enterprise appeared in Youxi County. However, after years of development, Youxi textile and apparel as a whole is still at the low end of the industrial chain. The joining of large enterprises has provided new development ideas for Youxi textile industry.
Determined to be high-end is Shunyuan’s “golden key”. “In the market, there is a large backlog of low-grade yarns, but there is a shortage of high-grade yarns. Since our establishment, we have used advanced equipment and technology to produce high-grade yarns to gain a foothold in the market.” Li Zuhua said.
Along the way, the company has built a series of projects in Youxi such as Shunyuan Textile, Longyuan Textile, Xuyuan Textile, Shunyuan Dyeing and Finishing, etc., forming a complete industrial chain. In 2020, the production capacity of Shunyuan series projects will exceed 700,000 tablets, with a total output value of approximately 3 billion yuan.
Wu Shaoxiong, deputy director of the Youxi County Industry and Information Technology Bureau, introduced that with the implementation of a number of large and good projects such as Shunyuan Textile, Youxi textile products have expanded from leather base fabrics to civilian yarn and Nylon, the production scale has gradually expanded, the industrial structure has continued to be optimized, and the degree of agglomeration has steadily increased. It has won two national-level cluster honors, “China’s Famous Leather Base Cloth City” and “China’s Famous Blended Yarn City”.
With the leading leadership, related supporting enterprises also grow together. In the past, local textile companies had to go to Shanghai to purchase a small accessory. Nowadays, high-quality aprons, rubber rollers and other textile equipment accessories can be purchased locally.
“At the moment, we are focusing on the ‘two ends’ of the three industrial chains of civilian yarn, nylon, and leather base fabrics, supplementing the upstream with textile equipment accessories and fiber raw materials, and extending the downstream to high-end Industrial chains such as apparel fabrics, dyeing and finishing, while accelerating the overall expansion and structural optimization.” Wu Shaoxiong said.
Upstream and downstream linkage
To extend the textile industry chain, dyeing and finishing is an important part. However, for a long time, the dyeing and finishing capabilities have not been broken through, which has become a “stuck neck” problem that restricts the development and growth of Youxi’s textile industry. Wu Shaoxiong told reporters that upgrading the dyeing and finishing process is crucial to increasing the added value of products and improving the efficiency of the entire textile industry chain. “Only by breaking through the bottleneck of dyeing and finishing can we open up a new situation for development and promote the industry to reach the level of 100 billion.”
Only by actively seeking change can we find a way out. Since 2018, Youxi County has started to build a dyeing and finishing professional park in Chengnan Park of Youxi Economic Development Zone, attracting five dyeing and finishing companies to move into the park. Trony Textile Dyeing and Finishing Company is one of them. Dong Ruiqi, the person in charge of the company, told reporters that the park has cogeneration supporting facilities, which can realize centralized power supply and gas supply and unified treatment of sewage, which solves the worries of enterprises.
How can leading foreign companies and local upstream and downstream companies go hand in hand and grow together? At Greer Printing and Dyeing Company, the reporter saw a list full of local textile companies in Youxi that cooperated with Greer. Greer is from Wenzhou. In addition to his own business, Greer also takes daily orders from more than 20 upstream small and medium-sized textile companies in the county, directly and indirectly providing nearly 3,000 employment positions.
Affected by the epidemic last year, the textile industry chain and supply chain were affected. The sudden drop in orders, inventory backlog, and capital shortage caused some small and medium-sized textile companies to feel the pain. Greer stepped forward and purchased the backlog of raw material gray fabrics from small businesses, which alleviated the inventory backlog and capital shortage problems of some companies.
But this year, Greer’s efforts paid off. As cloth prices rose, Greer took advantage of the price difference in raw materials and completed several times of orders, achieving a bottom-out rebound.
“Intelligent manufacturing” upgrade
Graphene nylon functional yarn, antibacterial and deodorizing nylon yarn, mosquito repellent nylon yarn… In the R&D center of Fujian Xinsen Synthetic Fiber Technology Co., Ltd., various high-end yarn products are refreshing.
Taking the road of innovation and basing ourselves on the market with differentiated products is the business philosophy that Xinsen adheres to. Zheng Bingzeng, the person in charge of the company, told reporters that by adding different types of nano-masterbatches during spinning processing, functional products with special properties such as mosquito repellent yarn and thermal insulation yarn can be produced to meet the individual needs of customers.
Today, Xinsen has formed a “spinning – texturing – weaving – dyeing and finishing”The complete industrial chain of “printing to ready-made garments” has an annual output of 240,000 tons of differentiated and functional nylon fibers, ranking 7th in the global nylon spinning industry in terms of production capacity. The transformation of manufacturing into “intelligent manufacturing” has also enabled Youxi to move towards world-class The expansion of nylon base injects new momentum.
Make efforts to transform and upgrade, old industries break into new horizons. Last year, the output value of Youxi County’s textile industry exceeded 20 billion yuan, firmly occupying the position of Youxi’s largest industry. The output value in the first half of this year reached 11.9 billion yuan, and the development momentum remains strong.
