On September 25, the 2021 Dongguan Textile, Clothing and Hat Industry High Quality Development Forum – Dalang Sub-forum was grandly held in Dalang, Dongguan. Representatives from government, industry, academia and research were invited to attend the meeting, focusing on “new advantages of recycled wool knittingindustrial cluster” “Multiple changes in the woolen textile industry in the post-epidemic era” and other important topics were discussed to explore the path of transformation of the Dalang woolen textile industry cluster under the new development stage.
Xu Yingxin, Vice President of the China Textile Industry Federation, President of the Textile Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Executive Director of the China Textile International Capacity Cooperation Enterprise Alliance, delivered a speech. , the current global political and economic situation is complex and ever-changing, and in the face of severe and complex domestic and international environments, the textile industry has withstood the pressure and worked hard to fight the epidemic, stabilize employment, and protect people’s livelihood. , and make outstanding contributions in promoting development.
“China’s textile industry will fully enter the restorative growth stage in 2021.” Xu Yingxin said. Data show that from January to July 2021, the added value of the national textile industry above designated size increased by 8.5% year-on-year, basically returning to the development level before the epidemic in 2019 with a slight increase.
Domestic demand for textile and clothing products also continues to pick up. From January to July 2021, the national sales of clothing, shoes, hats, and knitted textiles above designated size totaled 767.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.8%, and the sales scale has exceeded the pre-epidemic level.
From the export point of view, although the role of anti-epidemic materials in stimulating exports will be significantly weakened in 2021, as the export situation of other products such as clothing generally improves, from January to 2021 Total textile and apparel exports in August exceeded US$198.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%.
Xu Yingxin said that all these achievements are closely related to the textile industry’s persistence in building the industrial chain and supply chain foundation, deepening the supply-side structural reform and transformation and upgrading over the years.
“One of the important reasons why the textile industry is still full of resilience and vitality despite the adversity of the epidemic is that we have hundreds of thriving industrial clusters and professional markets across the country, and Dalang is one of them that has performed extremely well. .” Xu Yingxin said.
As one of the first batch of “Famous Woolen Sweater Towns in China”, Dalang Town’s woolen industry has become one of the largest and most complete industrial chain woolen industry clusters in China. After more than 40 years of vigorous development, Dalang Woolen Weaving is transforming and upgrading towards high quality. “I believe that under the new development pattern, Dalang will promote mutual development through domestic and international dual cycles, and will continue to rely on sustainable competitive advantages to create more brilliance.” Xu Yingxin concluded.
