On the afternoon of September 2, the “Green Fiber Mark Certification Press Conference” hosted by the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association was held in Beijing. The press conference released the green fiber mark certification system to the entire textile and chemical fiber industry, and analyzed the importance of developing “green fiber” during the critical period of transformation and upgrading of the textile industry. The representative products of the first eight chemical fiber companies that received “green fiber” certification were also displayed on site.
What is “green fiber”?
“Green fiber” refers to chemical fibers whose raw materials are derived from biomass and recyclable raw materials, whose production process is low-carbon and environmentally friendly, and which have no pollution to the environment or can be recycled after the finished products are discarded. At present, “green fiber” includes three major categories, namely recycled chemical fiber, bio-based chemical fiber, and liquid dyed fiber.
Recycling of chemical fibers——
It is a fiber made from waste bottle flakes, plastics and waste textiles as raw materials, through chemical or physical means, combined with spinning technology. This fiber can continue to be used in various fields such as textiles and materials. For example, waste textiles can be used to weave lining materials, covering materials, filter materials, building materials, decorative materials, etc. after being broken, opened, spunlace or spunbonded into webs, and deep molding. Recycling fiber is an important practitioner in implementing the national circular economy and building a resource-saving society. It is in line with the development model of low-carbon economy and the national strategy of sustainable development.
Bio-based fiber——
It is a renewable fiber processed from agricultural, forestry, and marine wastes and by-products. my country’s bio-based fibers mainly include bio-based new cellulose fibers, bio-based synthetic fibers, marine bio-based fibers, etc. The focus of the research is on green and clean production processes.
The application of bio-based fibers can not only reduce dependence on petroleum resources, but also effectively combine resource sustainability and production scale to achieve “three substitutions” (raw material substitution, process substitution, product substitution) and “three combinations” ” (Combined with the biochemical industry, combined with energy conservation, environmental protection and waste utilization, combined with functional improvement and application expansion). This fiber is widely substituted for conventional chemical fibers in terms of performance and can be used in many fields such as textiles, medical materials, health protection, aerospace and military industry. At the same time, bio-based fibers and their raw materials are renewable and biodegradable, are environmentally friendly, and are in line with the development concept of green environmental protection.
Liquid dyed fiber——
It refers to the colored fiber obtained through the spinning process by adding colorants to the spinning solution or melt using pre-spinning dyeing technology. It is also called “undyed fiber” or “pre-spun dyed fiber”. At present, domestic solution-dyed fibers include four varieties: polyester polyester, nylon, regenerated cellulose fiber and polyacrylonitrile. In 2015, the output of solution-dyed fiber accounted for approximately 10% of my country’s total chemical fiber output.
2. How to obtain the “Green Fiber” mark certification?

Green fiber certification mark——
This mark is registered by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. The China Chemical Fiber Industry Association is the holder of the Green Fiber Mark and enjoys the exclusive trademark rights of the Green Fiber Mark.
Enterprise application requirements——
Chinese chemical fiber enterprises that meet a series of conditions such as “continuous production and operation for more than two years and have passed ISO9001 quality management system certification and ISO14001 environmental management system certification” can apply to the China Chemical Fiber Association to use the green fiber mark.
Product conditions for use of the logo –
First, the main raw and auxiliary materials used in green fiber products refer to the requirements of the “Green Procurement Specifications for the Recycled Chemical Fiber (Polyester) Industry” (China Chemical Fiber Association Standard).
Second, the energy consumption, material consumption, water consumption, industrial water reuse rate and three waste emission indicators in the production process of green fiber marked products meet the requirements of level two and above of the clean production evaluation index system.
Third, green fiber label products are mid-to-high-end products, and their quality characteristics comply with the “Green Fiber Label Product Evaluation System (Trial)” and relevant national standards, industry standards, and association standards.
Process of applying for certification——
Including certification application, formal review, product testing, on-site inspection, general review assessment, written notification, product certification, and serial number entry procedures.
Logo form –
Including hangtags, packaging boxes, packaging bags, packaging films, etc. The logo content includes the green fiber logo pattern and the name of the certification unit (China Chemical Fiber Association, Product Development Center), certification category (bio-based chemical fiber/recycled chemical fiber/dope coloring chemical fiber), certification validity period,QR code, etc.
Valid certification period——
3 years.
Scope of use——
The “green fiber” logo can be applied to fiber, yarn, fabrics, clothing, home textiles, industrial textiles and other fields. After the enterprise obtains the right to use the “green fiber” mark, it will accept the supervision and management of the trademark use process by the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association.
Certification value——
The green fiber mark regulates the market through third-party certification and management. It aims to advocate green design, green materials and green manufacturing of products, further stimulate the enthusiasm of enterprises to develop green fiber, and increase the social awareness of green fiber and related products. credibility, effectively enhance the competitiveness of enterprises and products in domestic and foreign markets, promote environmental protection and public health, and achieve the dual goals of enterprise development and social responsibility.
