Seizing the opportunity to strengthen and extend the chain, Huangmei textile industry is the “icing on the cake”
On September 15, the person in charge of Wuxi Jiafang Company made a special trip to Huangmei County to inspect the investment environment, and became very interested in the national intangible cultural heritage – Huangmei flower pick. The two parties have initially reached a cooperation intention, and the flower pick craft is expected to join hands. “Huangmei Weaving”.
In recent years, Huangmei County has relied on the cotton spinning industry foundation formed by high-quality cotton bases across the country and its transportation location advantages to seize the opportunity of the southeast coastal textile industry’s transfer to the inland, strengthen and extend the chain, and build the province’s textile and garment industry capital. In the first half of this year alone, 19 textile companies in Wujiang District, Suzhou signed contracts.
“The entire textile industry chain includes four links: spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, and clothing. The printing and dyeing link is a link between the previous and the next and is a key link to increase the added value of products. It is also a shortcoming in the development of Huangmei’s textile industry. Huangmei County is making every effort to tackle the problem. , introduce printing and dyeing projects, open up the entire industrial chain of the textile industry, and truly realize the ‘icing on the cake’ for the development of Huangmei’s textile industry.” said Jiang Huiyu, deputy county magistrate of science and technology in Huangmei County and professor at Wuhan Textile University.
Retreat from the city and enter the garden to regroup
On September 14, machines roared in the huge production workshop of Hubei Zhisheng Textile Technology Co., Ltd. in Dashengguanshan Industrial Park, Huangmei County. All 100,000 spindles of spinning equipment have been installed, of which 60,000 spindles have been put into production and the remaining 40,000 spindles are under debugging.
“Most of the machines put into production are new equipment. All equipment can be put into production before the end of this year.” Ye Zhong, general manager of the company, told Hubei Daily reporters.
This vibrant production scene was something Ye Zhong never imagined more than a year ago.
Zhisheng Textile Technology Co., Ltd. was formerly the Second Cotton Spinning Factory of Huangmei County. In 2005, Zhisheng Textile Co., Ltd. in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province acquired the Huangmei County Second Cotton Spinning Factory in the old city as a whole and established Huangmei County Zhisheng Textile Co., Ltd. with a production capacity of 30,000 spindles. After the company was put into production, Zhisheng Company was shut down due to repeated complaints from citizens due to noise and other pollution problems. This level is 7 years. During the past seven years, the workers were laid off and the machines were left idle for a long time and turned into scrap metal. From 2015 to 2018, Huangmei County carried out rectification of the business environment and vigorously promoted the transformation and upgrading of the textile industry, and Zhisheng Company ushered in a turnaround.
In 2019, Huangmei County will attract investment for Zhisheng Textile as a key project of retreating from the city and entering the park, vacating the cage for birds, and technological transformation and innovation. After many rounds of negotiations between the two parties, at the end of 2020, the government took over first and liquidated the Oriental Huijin Company in Dashengguanshan Industrial Park. Zhisheng Group acquired the entire land and factory buildings of Oriental Huijin and established Hubei Zhisheng Textile Technology Co., Ltd.
“The government continues to optimize the business environment, which is the main reason why we chose to stay.” Ye Zhong said that from the relocation of the old factory to the construction of the new factory, Huangmei County handled all relevant procedures.
In May 2020, the Hubei Zhisheng factory renovation and expansion project officially started. The project area will be expanded to 240 acres based on the original 90 acres of the old factory, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan. “The second phase of the 35,000-square-meter factory is under construction, and 100,000 spindles ofintelligent and fully automated yarn equipment have been ordered, and the equipment can be started as soon as it arrives.” Ye Zhong He said that after the second phase is put into operation at the end of next year, it will become the first automatic and unmanned spinning workshop in Huanggang City. After both phases of the project are completed and put into production, the total production capacity will reach 200,000 spindles. Together with the two projects of automatic doffing robots and medical protective equipment that are about to be put into production, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of more than 1 billion yuan and an annual tax revenue of more than 30 million yuan.
The resurrection of Zhisheng is a vivid example of Huangmei’s textile industry getting out of trouble and achieving transformation, upgrading and development.
Technical transformation and upgrading to improve capabilities and expand regulations
“This year we can achieve an output value of 150 million yuan, and the land for the second phase has also been approved.” In the workshop operating at full capacity, Ma Weimin, the production director of Hubei Baisixiang Textile Technology Co., Ltd., said happily.
In the 8,000-square-meter production workshop, neatly stacked chemical fiber materials and cotton are automatically picked up by machines and transported to the automated spinning machine to spin out a spindle of cotton yarnline, no manual operation is required throughout the process.
From 2019 to the first half of 2020, the company invested more than 2 million yuan in technical reforms, introducing more advanced draw frames, optimizing processes, and improving automation.
“After the technical transformation was completed in the second half of last year, one process can save 10 people in labor and reduce the yarn defect rate.” Ma Weimin said.
With the empowerment of science and technology, technological transformation and upgrading, capacity improvement and expansion of regulations, the development pace of Huangmei textile industry is becoming more and more stable.
Starting from a family workshop to now running a leading enterprise with an output value of nearly 100 million yuan, Liu Juying, chairman of Huanggang Meiyu Clothing Co., Ltd., has witnessed the development of Huangmei’s textile and garment industry over the past 20 years.
In 2001, Liu Juying and her husband took over the bankrupt state-owned down jacket factory from Jiujiang to Huangmei with 800,000 yuan saved through hard work and named it “Chenyang Garment Factory”. In 2006, Liu Juying and his wife were the first to establish Meixiang Garment Weaving Co., Ltd. in Dashengguanshan Industrial Park, Huangmei County. In 2010, Meixiang Clothing cooperated with the well-known domestic clothing brand Ayilian to create the “Hubei Ayilian Industrial Park”. God has itJust as the project was being launched, a sudden car accident took away the husband’s life. Liu Juying, who was studying with her two children in Wuhan, had to wipe away her tears, endure her grief, and work non-stop on the construction of the new factory. In June 2011, a new factory covering an area of more than 70 acres was completed and put into operation, and the company was officially named Meiyu Clothing Co., Ltd. As the company’s popularity and reputation continue to increase, Meiyu Clothing has established cooperative relationships with well-known clothing brands such as Septwolves and Lilan, with an annual output of 3 million pieces of clothing.
In 2018, Meiyu Clothing invested more than 4 million yuan to introduce advanced intelligent and automated template machines to realize modularization of clothing processing and production. “Clothing production no longer relies on manual cutting, it is more efficient and quality is more guaranteed.” Liu Juying said.
In 2020, Meiyu Clothing invested 8 million yuan to build a sterile workshop. This year, more than 2 million yuan was invested to introduce a fully automated medical mask production line. On September 3, the medical mask production line was successfully put into operation, with an annual output of 100,000 medical masks. Meiyu Clothing’s second phase project covering an area of more than 20 acres is also under construction. It has planned an e-commerce and R&D platform and is preparing to launch its own clothing brand.
Replenishing the chain and extending the chain are in the ascendant
The parallel progress of spinning and clothing companies has attracted an influx of weaving companies.
In Baiheng Textile Technology Industrial Park, Dashengguanshan Industrial Park, Huangmei Economic Development Zone, standardized factory buildings have risen from the ground, sewage treatment, and reclaimed water reuse , road hardening and greening, office buildings and other supporting facilities are complete. Many weaving companies such as Hongbo, Dongsheng and Liangang have settled in and started production, and a vibrant scene is coming. In the workshop of Hubei Hongbo Textile Technology Co., Ltd., 252 automatic water-jet looms are operating at full capacity. On the looms, pieces of pure white gray fabric are stretching little by little. The person in charge of the workshop told reporters that the company was put into production at the end of May last year and could weave 60,000 meters of fabric annually.
Baiheng Textile Industrial Park is a key investment attraction project in Huangmei County, covering an area of 533 acres, with a total agreed investment of 1.5 billion yuan. It will be constructed in two phases, including 388 acres in the first phase and 150 acres in the second phase. As of July this year, 6 standardized factory buildings totaling 80,000 square meters have been built, and the remaining 4 factories and living and office supporting facilities will be fully completed in October. The first phase of the project has fully completed investment promotion. A total of 16 weaving companies have signed contracts, 6 have settled in and put into production, 2,066 water-jet looms, and 2 are debugging equipment. According to reports, after the first phase of 16 companies reaches capacity, the number of water-jet looms will reach 7,000, which can achieve an annual output value of 1.3 billion yuan and a tax revenue of 26 million yuan. After the completion of the second phase and reach capacity, the industrial park can accommodate 1.1 water-jet looms. It has more than 10,000 units, with an annual output of 900 million meters of fabric, and an output value of more than 2 billion yuan.
With the continuous expansion of the Huangmei textile industry chain, the industrial park has been upgraded to a national textileindustrial transfer demonstration park and Hubei key development Industrial Clusters. In 2019, Huangmei was awarded the “China Filament Weaving Industry Base” signboard by the China Filament Weaving Association. By the end of 2020, there were more than 200 textile and garment companies in Huangmei, with an annual output value exceeding 5.1 billion yuan, accounting for half of Huanggang City’s textile and garment industry. By the end of this year, the number of advanced water-jet looms in the county is expected to exceed 10,000, with an annual output of 200 million meters of gray fabric and 60 million pieces of clothing.
“Huangmei textile companies are mostly concentrated at the front end of the industrial chain. The industrial chain is imperfect and the added value of products cannot increase. As spinning companies and garment companies complete technological transformation and upgrading, a number of weaving companies have settled in the industrial park and introduced retail products. Emissions, intelligent printing and dyeing projects, the time is ripe to open up the entire industrial chain.” Jiang Huiyu said that as a pillar industry, Huangmei is making every effort to build a high-quality development capital for the province’s textile and garment industry, striving to achieve 100 scale enterprises and output value by 2025 exceeded 10 billion yuan.
