Lan Xiang: National Bureau of Statistics cotton monitoring situation

On October 21, at the Fifth Standing Council of the Fourth Session and National CottonSituation Analysis meeting held by the China Cotton Association, the Rural Department of the National Bureau of Statistics Lan Xiang introduced the cotton situation monitored by the National Bureau of Statistics.

She introduced that according to the situation reported by various survey teams and the Bureau of Statistics in early September, the country’s cotton sown area has still declined this year, especially in the mainland. As the temperature drops, large areas are also being resowed. The Bureau of Statistics is also actively using remote sensing measurements to determine the actual sown area and monitor the growth of cotton. At present, the actual cotton production data has not yet been reported. An announcement on cotton production will be released in December. Please pay attention to the specific data.
