If the mulberry gardens are not well managed, raising silkworms to get rich will become an empty talk.” Recently, at the mulberry garden base for co-cultivating silkworms in Tongguan Village, Tongguan Town, Zhen’an County, Shaanxi Province , the technical personnel of the County Characteristic Industry Development Center are instructing and training the mulberry trees in the mulberry garden to prune branches, whitewash, loosen the soil, and clear weeds. It is a gratifying scene that the slack farming period has turned into a busy farming period.
In order to ensure that the sericulture industry will reach a new level next year, the Zhenan County Characteristic Industry Development Center will seize the development opportunity of the county government’s implementation of the rural revitalization strategy to vigorously support the agricultural industry, make full use of the winter slack time, and strengthen the winter science and technology of mulberry gardens. management work, carry out on-site practical training to allow silkworm farmers to refine their planting techniques, and implement the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee with practical actions. Technical personnel went to various base towns to organize and mobilize silkworm farmers to strengthen mulberry orchard management. In the fields, technicians from the County Specialty Products Center trained sericulture farmers step by step on mulberry tree pruning, weeding and soil loosening, whitening and pest control, reclamation and fertilization, and other winter scientific management tasks, setting off a winter management boom in the sericulture industry.
Up to now, 50,000 acres of the county’s 55,000 acres of mulberry gardens have been pruned, 40,000 acres have been whitewashed and dewormed, and 35,000 acres have been reclaimed and fertilized. It is expected that the entire sericulture winter management work will be completed by the end of January. At the same time, 30 new disinfection pools and 35 new silkworm rooms with an area of more than 1,100 square meters have been built. The disinfection work of silkworm tools is also being carried out in an orderly manner.
