Sorona® artificial fur appears on Bravo’s popular American fashion show “Project Runway”!
Wilmington, DE: This news is true, but the fur is fake (bio-based fur!) Project Runway Episode 1907: “Is Your Fur Real?” Sorona on Bravo ® surprised all the contestants with its faux fur entry. Sorona® collaborated with Ecopel to jointly develop Koba®. Koba® is the first commercial artificial fur on the market using bio-based ingredients. In this fashion challenge, designers work in pairs and are asked to select their favorite fur from more than 200 yards, colors, styles and lengths of plant-based and recycled faux fur. Judges Nina Garcia and Elaine Welteroth participated in this episode, while special guest judge Esteban Cortazar and famous fashion actor and singer Billy Porter also attended the show. The host and designer Christian Siriano praised this sustainable artificial fur as a “groundbreaking” and “amazing” work. Designers select from these luxurious furs, which imitate leopard, cheetah, coyote, wool and rabbit, and create looks that go beyond traditional clothing. Designers Chasity Sereal and Prajjé Oscar Jean-Baptiste made a splash at the show by fusing a Sorona® pink faux fur bodycon ready-made top with a custom street art-inspired skirt.
