The United States implements a voluntary recall of Chinese-made women’s scarves
On April 6, 2016, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and GGB Accessories Group (formerlyLF Accessories Group, LLC) jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made women’s scarves.
This recall of scarves involves two styles of Ivanka Trump trademarks: BeachWave style, blue, coral and yellow; Brushstroke Oblong style, blue, red, light gray, green. Both styles of scarves are 76 inches long and 24 inches wide. 100% rayon tape machine selvedge. There is a black label with “IVANKATRUMP” embroidered in silver thread on the edge of the scarf.
The recalled products were sold at Century21, Lord & Taylor, Marshalls, TJMaxx and SteinMart retail stores and online stores on Amazon.com and loehmanns.com from October 2014 to January 2016, with unit prices ranging from US$12 to US$68.
About 20,000 of the recalled products were sold in the United States. The reason for the recall is that the scarves do not meet the requirements of the American Apparel and Textile Flammability Standards and may cause a burning hazard. So far, no reports of damage have been received.
To this end, the U.S. Consumer Product Commission recommends that consumers should immediately stop using the recalled scarves and return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
