On April 8, 2016, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning on girls’ clothing named “MissImage” produced in China. The notifying country in this case is Cyprus. The products notified this time are clothing suitable for girls aged 18 months. Includes a pair of trousers and a hoodie with a hood cord. The product style/model is: LF-2043. The barcode is 15WC040001/2230000229912. The product’s industry classification code (OECD Portal Category) is 67000000 – Clothing.
The hood string of the above-mentioned hoodie may cause strangulation when the child moves, causing the child to suffocate. This product does not meet the requirements of the relevant European standard EN14682.
At present, the Cyprus authorities have taken measures to force the above products to withdraw from market circulation.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this. EU issues consumer warning on Chinese-made girls’ clothing
