According to China Customs statistics, the national fabric import and export volume from January to March 2016 was 19.34 billion meters, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%, and the import and export volume was US$26.36 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%. Among them, the export quantity was 18.25 billion meters, an increase of 2.6%; the export value was 24.11 billion US dollars, a decrease of 2.4%; the average export unit price was 1.32 US dollars/kg, a year-on-year decrease of 4.8%. In March 2016, the national fabric export volume was 2.83 billion meters, a year-on-year increase of 58%; the export value was US$3.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 41.6%. Exports to Latin America and North America continued to decline, with export values reaching US$840 million and US$420 million respectively, a decrease of 19.1% and 12.8% respectively.

From January to March 2016, the export price of fabrics was US$1.33/meter, a year-on-year decrease of 5.3%. The export price of fabrics to Asia was US$1.49/meter, down 5.6% year-on-year; the export price of yarn to the EU and Latin American markets was US$1.34/meter and 1.02 yuan/meter respectively, down 7.2 percentage points respectively. Ranked 16th in China’s single export market, among which, the export value of products (fabrics) subject to safeguard measures was US$7.46 million, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%, accounting for 0.9% of China’s total textile and apparel exports to Indonesia.
