EU textile, clothing and footwear retail sales increased by .% year-on-year
Eurostat released the latest retail sales data on May 4, 2016. In March 2016, the retail sales of the 19 countries in the Eurozone decreased by 0.5% month-on-month and increased by 2.1% year-on-year; the retail sales of the 28 EU countries decreased by 0.7% month-on-month and increased by 2.4% year-on-year. Among the 19 countries in the Eurozone and the 28 EU countries, the countries with the largest year-on-year growth in retail sales in March were Finland, Slovakia and Bulgaria, while the countries with the largest year-on-year decreases were Portugal, Denmark and Estonia.
Looking at the retail sales of textiles, clothing and footwear, in February 2016, the retail sales of the 19 countries in the Eurozone fell by 0.7% month-on-month and remained the same year-on-year; the retail sales of the 28 EU countries fell by 0.7% month-on-month and increased by 0.3% year-on-year.
