Uzbekistan’s seed cotton production will reach 10,000 tons
According to estimates by Uzbekistan Cotton Industry Export Joint Stock Company, Uzbekistan’s seed cotton production will reach 3.3 million tons in 2016, slightly lower than the 3.36 million tons in 2015, and lint production will exceed 1 million tons.
According to the Uzbekistan government’s agricultural planting structure adjustment plan, Uzbekistan will reduce the cotton sown area year by year. By 2020, seed cotton production will be reduced to 3 million tons. The released land will be used to grow food, fruits, vegetables and other cash crops to Offset the losses caused by lower cotton prices.
