According to China Customs statistics, the national fabric import and export volume from January to July 2016 was 25.06 billion meters, a year-on-year increase of 6%, and the import and export volume was US$34.01 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 1.7%. Among them, the export quantity was 23.62 billion meters, an increase of 7.7%; the export value was 30.8 billion US dollars, a decrease of 0.4%; the average export unit price was 1.3 US dollars/kg, a year-on-year decrease of 7.5%. The import quantity was 1.44 billion meters, a decrease of 15.2%; the import value was US$3.21 billion, a decrease of 13.2%. The average unit price of imports was US$2.23/meter, a year-on-year increase of 2.4%.

From January to July, China’s fabric exports to Hong Kong were US$2.09 billion, a decrease of 6.8%. Exports to Pakistan declined, with export value reaching US$930 million, a decrease of 10.1%. Exports to Bangladesh and India both increased, with export values ​​reaching US$2.22 billion and US$800 million respectively, an increase of 6.9% and 12.3% respectively.

From January to July, China’s fabric exports to Japan were US$250 million, a decrease of 11.6%. Exports to the EU have been steadily recovering in recent months, with exports worth US$2.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4%. Exports to Latin America and North America continued to decline, with export values ​​reaching US$2.44 billion and US$1.14 billion respectively, with declines of approximately 13.7% and 12.7% respectively.

The export unit prices of cotton cloth, silk woven fabrics and chemical fiber woven fabrics all dropped slightly, reaching US$1.54/meter, US$5.42/meter and US$1.04/meter respectively, down 9.1%, 4.6% and 7.6% respectively.
