Azerbaijan’s cotton output will reach 10,000 tons
According to the Azerbaijan Interfax report on September 5, Azerbaijani President Aliyev recently stated when inspecting the cotton planting situation in the Sarion region that Azerbaijan’s cotton output will reach 300,000 tons in 2017, and the harvest rate will reach 30 tons. dan/ha. President Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan’s cotton planting industry has huge development potential. In the 1970s, Azerbaijan’s annual cotton output reached 1 million tons per year. Currently, the Azerbaijani government is implementing a new cotton planting industry development plan in 24 regions in the country and spending huge sums of money to purchase equipment to promote domestic agricultural development and create new jobs.
