In September 2016, Vietnam exported $2.167 billion in textiles and clothing, a year-on-year increase of 1.36%, and a month-on-month decrease of 12.47%; the export of yarn was 101,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 27.79%, and a month-on-month decrease of 11.07%. From January to September 2016, Vietnam exported US$17.825 billion in textiles and clothing, a year-on-year increase of 3.76%; exported 857,300 tons of yarn, a year-on-year increase of 19.10%.
In September 2016, Vietnam imported 75,400 tons of cotton, a year-on-year decrease of 26.24%, and a month-on-month decrease of 26.89%; imported yarns were 65,200 tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.06%, and a month-on-month decrease of 19.65%; imported fabrics were US$760 million, a year-on-year decrease of 8.17 %, a month-on-month decrease of 12.70%. From January to September 2016, Vietnam imported 786,300 tons of cotton, a year-on-year decrease of 3.77%; imported yarn 631,600 tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.28%; and imported fabrics of US$7.578 billion, a year-on-year increase of 0.85%.
