The United States launches anti-counterfeiting investigation into China’s fine-denier polyester staple fiber
On June 21, 2017, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued an announcement stating that it would initiate an anti-dumping investigation into fine denier polyester staple fiber (Fine Denier Polyester Staple Fiber) imported from mainland China, India, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Launched an anti-subsidy investigation into the involved products imported from China and India. This case involves products under the US coordinated tariff number 5503.20.0025. The U.S. International Trade Commission is expected to make a preliminary ruling on industrial injury in this case before July 17, 2017. If the U.S. International Trade Commission makes a positive ruling on this case, the anti-dumping and countervailing investigations will continue. On May 31, 2017, U.S. companies DAK Americas LLC, Nan Ya Plastics Corporation, America, and Auriga Polymers Inc. filed an application with the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) on behalf of the U.S. domestic industry, requesting that imports from mainland China, India, Fine-denier polyester staple fibers from South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam have initiated anti-dumping and countervailing industrial damage investigations. According to statistics, in 2016, the total amount of products involved in the US imports from mainland China, India, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam was approximately US$79.4 million, US$14.7 million, US$10.6 million, US$9.6 million, and US$12.4 million.
