Awati County’s 1.31 million acres of cotton are fully grown
As the temperature rises, cotton sowing is in full swing on 1.31 million acres of Awati County in Xinjiang, and the fields are busy. This year, Awati County has actively optimized the cotton planting structure and promoted the high-quality development of the cotton industry through the “enterprise + cooperative + farmer” interest linkage model.
Recently, in Qiongkul Aiken Village, Sanhe Town, Awati County, a precision seeder equipped with a Beidou navigation automatic driving system was carrying out precision sowing according to a preset route. Villager Li Zhongnian installed the Beidou navigation automatic driving system on his high-horsepower tractor this year. Compared with previous years, the agricultural machinery operations are more precise and the operating efficiency is further improved. It not only saves more than 50% of cotton seeds, but also improves land utilization. Li Zhongnian said: I contracted 2,000 acres of cotton land this year, and so far 1,770 acres have been sown. Now we all use the Beidou navigation system to sow.
Since last year, Awati County has actively explored the new water-saving sowing technology of cotton “dry sowing and wet planting”, vigorously developed efficient water-saving agriculture, and increased the income of cotton farmers. At the same time, we actively guide farmers to scientifically carry out spring plowing production, select professional and technical personnel to provide door-to-door agricultural machinery maintenance services, go deep into the fields to provide technical guidance, and coordinate agricultural material dealers to ensure the supply of agricultural materials, provide full technical guidance services, and achieve refined and mechanized sowing. .
It is understood that Awati County plans to plant 1.31 million acres of cotton this year, of which 100,286 acres will be planted using the “dry sowing and wet planting” water-saving technology. All 1.31 million acres of cotton will be sown using mechanization. It is expected that in All planting will be completed before April 25th.
