On April 15, in the brand-new spinning production workshop of Fangxian Hengda Textile Co., Ltd., workers were busy in front of the fully automatic machine (pictured). The company’s predecessor was Fangxian State-owned Cotton Mill. At the beginning of this century, the cotton spinning mill was on the verge of bankruptcy. Fang County actively attracted investment and introduced Zhao Yangfei, a businessman from Zhuji, Zhejiang, to invest 1 million yuan. After more than 20 years of business development, the company has now become a leading enterprise in the county’s textile industry with an annual output value of 1 billion yuan.
The success of Fangxian Hengda Textile Co., Ltd. has strengthened the county’s determination to develop the textile and garment industry. In recent years, the county has seized the opportunity of textile and garmentindustrial transfer in the southeastern coastal areas and carried out business promotion. Many textile companies from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai have come to Fangxian to invest and start business. Yufeng Knitting is one of them. representatives among them.
In September 2018, Jin Yu, a merchant from Zhuji, Zhejiang Province, came to Fangxian County for inspection and planned to move the sock knitting factory to Fangxian County. Ji Daoqing, secretary of the Fangxian County Party Committee (then county magistrate), warmly received him and organized relevant departments to provide various preferential policies and convenient services to the enterprise. Soon Jin Yu signed an investment agreement with the county government. The county immediately established a project coordination headquarters to serve the implementation of enterprises. In just over a month, Hubei Yufeng Knitting Co., Ltd. was successfully put into production and achieved an output value of 50 million yuan that year. But new “troubles” emerged. The existing factory buildings could not meet the company’s production capacity needs, and there was an urgent need to expand the scale of the company.
In order to solve the shortage of Yufeng knitting production plants, Fangxian County launched a heavy-asset investment promotion to revitalize the county’s existing assets. It leased some idle buildings in Hengyun Transportation and Logistics Park as a whole and delivered them to textile companies for free. In January 2019, Yufeng Knitting’s new factory was successfully settled in the logistics park. At the same time, a poverty alleviation workshop was opened in Baihe Town, adjacent to the county seat. At present, the annual output value of Yufeng Knitting reaches more than 150 million yuan, with exports of 25 million US dollars and taxes paid of 2 million yuan.
Jin Yu, who has achieved career development in Fangxian County, has become the investment ambassador of Fangxian County and actively “matchmaking” for Fangxian County’s investment promotion. With his help, Fangxian Huaqiu Textile attracted funds and revitalized its business. Xinxin Textile, Lianmai Textile, Giovanni Clothing, Zhongrun Nylon, Hejia Socks, Jiayun Clothing, Hongdi Textile, etc. The company signed a contract to settle in Fang County. The person in charge of Zhongrun Nylon introduced by Jin Yu also took up the baton of “attracting investment through business” and attracted Suzhou Libaolongnew materialsHigh-performance fiber spinning project and Xinrun Textile, Damai Chemical Fiber, Xinfa Textile and other enterprises. As of now, there are more than 30 textile companies in Fangfang County.
On the right side of the Fangxian entrance of Shifang Expressway, there is a large-scale textile industrial park. At present, 7 textile and garment companies, including Hengda Textile and Hongyao Socks, have settled here. The projects cover knitting, weaving, finished products and garment processing.
In 2020, Fangxian County invested 700 million yuan to build a textile industrial park covering an area of 500 acres, allowing upstream and downstream textile and garment enterprises to gather together to achieve seamless connection between supply and demand. It is expected that by the end of 2023, Fangxian Textile Industrial Park will realize the production of raw materials “cotton yarn, nylon, Polyester” to the full coverage of the industrial chain from “covered yarn, elastic yarn, hook knitting yarn, warping, twisting, weaving, clothing and socks industry”, the output value of the textile and clothing industry will reach 100 billion.
