On January 11, the 2023 Sericulture Production Work Conference in Qianjiang District, Chongqing was held. The meeting summarized the sericulture production work in 2022, arranged and deployed relevant work in 2023, and required that the “Three Winters” of sericulture work be quickly launched to ensure that the annual sericulture production goals are successfully achieved. Gao Suqin, member of the Standing Committee of the District Committee, and Ran Guangrong, Vice Chairman of the District CPPCC attended the meeting.
On the same day, the participants visited Puhua Community and Shuanglong Village in Zhuoshui Town, Changchun Village in Jinxi Town, and the winter management site of the sericulture base in Taihe Village, Taiji Town. It is understood that the sericulture production in the region will remain stable and increase in 2022, and the cocoon production has ranked first in the city for 12 consecutive years, which has better achieved the goal of increasing the income of sericulture farmers. The sericulture industry in the region shows a steady increase in cocoon production, stable growth in cocoon price income, effective base brand building, obvious results in the expansion of leading enterprises into and outside the city to build joint venture bases, and increasingly prominent social benefits.
Gao Suqin pointed out that the sericulture industry is one of the pillar industries of agriculture in Qianjiang District. Relevant departments at the sericulture development towns, streets, and district levels must raise awareness, based on high starting points, high standards, and high efficiency requirements, fully implement closed-loop management, and focus on Target tasks, consolidate work responsibilities, promote the construction of high-quality cocoonsilk bases and the entire sericulture industry chain in the region, and ensure that sericulture production reaches a new level in 2023.
