As silkworm seeds are about to go on sale this spring, on March 13, the 2023 Hechi City Silkworm Industry High Quality Development Conference was held at Hechi City Agricultural School ( Yizhou) was successfully held. At the meeting, the head of the Hechi City Agricultural Law Enforcement Brigade summarized the situation of law enforcement on silkworm seeds last year, and Director Qin Jiawang of the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau made an important speech. In his speech, he affirmed the achievements in law enforcement on silkworm seeds last year and also pointed out the Problems existing in seed production and operation and commercial silkworm co-breeding and operation. It puts forward requirements and measures to be taken on how to manage the production and operation of silkworm seeds and small silkworms this year, with special emphasis on the need to apply for a business license to continue to implement the co-breeding of small silkworms. Only on the premise of complying with the silkworm seed management regulations and other conditions, small silkworm co-breeding households can enjoy the policy of rewards and subsidies. Based on the initial results achieved in the implementation of management in 2022, it is planned to continue to improve this year, consolidate next year, and maintain normal management in the future. Through the self-discipline of the Silkworm Co-breeding Association, the purpose of improving the quality of silkworms, thereby improving the success rate of silkworm farmers, and thereby improving the quality of silkworm cocoons. To this end, the Hechi Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has won the support of the Autonomous Region’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, increased special funds for law enforcement for the first time, strengthened law enforcement, and strived to establish an innovative model of silkworm seed law enforcement management in the region and strive to promote it throughout Guangxi.

At the meeting, experts from the Guangxi District Sericulture Technology Extension Station gave special lectures on “Quality Supervision of the Sericulture Seed Industry” and “Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Sericulture Industry”.

At the meeting, bonus incentives of 5,000 and 10,000 yuan were also given to the municipal and county-level demonstration households for commercial silkworm production and operation in Hechi City.

The convening of this meeting gave Hechi City a good start in sericulture production throughout the year and laid a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the industry.
