Shitian Village, Mashui Town, Yangchun City, has always had a tradition of silkworm breeding. In recent years, Shitian Village has vigorously developed the leading industry of silkworm breeding, continuously optimized the industrial structure, and laid a new “Silk Road” for farmers in the village.
At the Shitian Village Silkworm Breeding Demonstration Base, rows of mulberry trees are full of green, and strings of purple-black and red mulberries hang on the branches, like agate hidden among the green leaves. According to the person in charge of the base, in order to optimize the industrial structure and increase revenue, the base expanded this 70-acre mulberry orchard in 2019. The mulberry fruits will mature one after another on March 8 every year, attracting many tourists to come and pick them. The period lasts for one month.

Generally, mulberries begin to mature on March 8 every year, and many tourists come with their children to pick mulberries on Sundays. Our mulberries have never been treated with pesticides because we have to pick mulberry leaves to raise silkworms together.
In recent years, Shitian Village has vigorously developed the leading industry of mulberry breeding, with more than 1,800 acres of mulberry fields and 235 sericulture households. In order to further expand the scale of breeding and provide high-quality silkworm seedlings, the Shitian Village Party Branch established the Yangchun Shitian Silkworm Breeding Professional Cooperative. Through the “cooperative + company + farmer + base” business model, a 120-acre silkworm breeding demonstration base was built In the mulberry field, more than 1,500 square meters of co-cultivation rooms have been built, including a mulberry leaf garden and a mulberry fruit picking garden dedicated to growing silkworms. In 2022, the cooperative’s total income will be 950,000 yuan, and a total of 2,800 high-quality silkworms will be bred.
